On Tuesday 24th January Sensor City hosted a unique event in collaboration with Plessey which provided a showcase of the new innovations from Plessey and offered the possibility to explore opportunities for collaboration with a partner interested in working with academics and SMEs, and hear some epic new ideas.

Companies were invited to submit a short 3 minute video of their idea of working with Plessey’s EPIC sensor. The winner of the competition was decided by an audience vote and the winner was the walking rehabilitation system presented by Jonathan Butters of Butters Innovation/Morow, partnered with PDS (CNC) Engineering and the Universities of Salford and Manchester.  Jonathan was clearly pleased with his Dell Tablet and Plessey Sensor Development Kit.

Thanks also to the Glen Dimplex Team, Fatigue Management International, Hemsted & Co and LJMU’s Huy Nguyen for their worthy entries – it was a close one!
