SWIG – Sensors for Water Interest Group: Innovation Workshop

Overview:

The innovation workshop, kindly hosted by Liverpool John Moores University, and run as a joint workshop with Add Strategy, offers the opportunity for attendees to have detailed conversations with the presenters and for the presenter to gain feedback and insight from the audience. This will be through a number of focused round table discussions and interactive workshops. These discussions could lead to future collaborations to develop or exploit new technologies with an end user.

This workshop aims to address challenges related to water sensors as identified by the water industry.

Morning session – Technical innovation
This session focuses on new technology being developed to respond to sensing challenges in water that have been identified by water companies. In particular new technologies that offer better information for the user, for example new cost effective methods for measurement of turbidity and innovative methods of data fusion and analytics, also achieving lab quality analysis in networks.

Afternoon session – Innovation in business models
Run in conjunction with Add Strategy, presentations that focus on developing new methods of working are invited. This could include methods of sharing data, innovative costing models, tools for planning sensor deployment, costing models and overcoming resistance to change.
