Sensor City customers named as some of the fastest growing and most innovative tech businesses in the city region.

LCR Tech Climbers highlights innovative and resilient digital and technology businesses who have showcased, not only the ability to sustain during challenging times, but how to thrive.

Among the shortlisted businesses recognised at the online event, were several Sensor City companies, who impressed the selection panel with their forward-thinking solutions and positive growth stories.

For the second year in succession, PIN IoT were announced as ‘Ones to Watch’ thanks to their asset tracking IoT device.

Working with the waste collection sector, PIN IoT’s solution enables the industry to transition to a digital view of operations whereby containers and vehicles are tracked in real time using low power wireless and sensor technology.

Data is presented to customers via proprietary software designed specifically for the industry to increase revenue, reduce operating costs, improve customer service, materially reduce CO2 emissions and replace human contact with automated, digital technology.

DefProc Engineering also made the ‘Ones to Watch’ list, which celebrates growing stars of Liverpool City Region’s digital sector.

Specialising in proof of concept, prototypes and small run production, DefProc provides a service that helps small and large companies realise their innovations. This service allows companies to innovate without needing to employ their own innovation teams.

Having grown their social isolation digital solution ‘Push to Talk’ throughout lockdown, DefProc now sees its future in green energy, having recently taken on a project in the sector.

The LCR Tech Climbers initiative also looks at what it is about the Liverpool City Region that nurtures great digital and tech-based ideas into viable scale-up enterprises.

Celebrating the success of local businesses lays the foundation for attracting investment and talent to our region. It also supports in inspiring the next generation of businesses to see what success looks like and what can be harnessed in the region to attain that success.
