Sensor City Hot Desker, Metis Automation, has been nominated for the Digital Engineering/Technology Award in the prestigious ‘Made in The North West’ Awards 2018.

The awards are a celebration of all that is great about manufacturing and they applaud the use of technology, the ambition to export and the motivation to train and invest in people.

It was Metis Automation’s paperless manufacturing execution system (MES) software product, Tascus, that impressed the judges, due to it helping customers to create high-quality products with minimum defects and improving productivity by 30%.

Martin Griffiths, Technical Director of Metis Automation said: “It is great to be acknowledged for the positive impact that our software is having on improving productivity for manufacturers in the North West.”

A panel of industry judges will vote on the nominations and the winners will be announced on Thursday 10 May 2018, at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester. The victors will automatically go through to the grand final ‘Made in the UK’ on 20 June, where the best of British manufacturing will be celebrated.

We wish Martin and his team all the very best of luck and will be keeping our fingers crossed next month!
