Back in October last year, we revealed that one of our exciting Members, PIN IoT, had been selected to participate in the 2018 Startupbootcamp IoT programme.

As the largest global accelerator network, Startupbootcamp (SBC) works with the best and brightest start-ups to help them scale into industry-changing technology businesses. SBC alumni companies have secured over 500 million euros of investor funding and created nearly 3,000 jobs to date.

Selected from 300 applicants, originating from 51 countries, PIN IoT worked alongside leading IoT and technology experts, corporate partners and high-profile investors, to move the business forward quickly over an intense three-month period.

Working with growth hacking experts, PIN IoT have refined the business model, value proposition and product strategy. Their story is now much clearer and dedicated to the waste industry on a global scale.

Paul Byrne, Founder of PIN IoT, said: “Participating in the Startupbootcamp initiative has introduced us to a broad network of corporate partners and IoT experts, who have each offered valuable advice and input.

“Thanks to a focused investor strategy, we have become ‘Investor Ready’ in a short space of time and have been introduced to to around 20 ‘warm’ investors.

The dedicated accelerator programme culminated at a large-scale Demo Day, in which PIN IoT presented to over 350 industry partners and investors at the London Science Museum.

You can watch their SBC presentation in full here.

Paul Byrne added: “We have received a phenomenal response following our pitch and business launch.

“We definitely see ourselves as the next Liverpool based success story.”

PIN IoT are now generating ongoing revenues, working with a number of the UK’s largest waste management companies, and are looking forward to a very exciting future.

They have also been shortlisted for the ‘New Business of the Year Award’ at the 2019 Regional Business Awards, so we’ll be keeping our fingers’ crossed for them at the Awards ceremony on 20th June.
