Maserati has once again partnered with The Sunday Times to recognise one hundred game-changing entrepreneurs who are innovators in the business world.

The Maserati 100 is now in its fourth year, and is dedicated to celebrating the positive impact entrepreneurs have on the economy and society as a whole.

We are delighted to hear that one of our tenants, Terry Nelson from Aqua Running, has been named in this exclusive list, recognising him as one of Britain’s top entrepreneurs.

The initiative is all about the ‘big idea’ and the entrepreneurs who have converted them into a successful businesses. Terry is a great example of this, having drawn on his own personal experiences to establish a successful, growing international business.

Terry is a former Liverpool FC player and World Transplant Games Gold Medallist. After being diagnosed with kidney failure and undergoing two kidney transplants, which later led to the loss of the lower part of his right leg, he developed a unique training method with an Aqua Running Bodysuit that enabled him to keep active during recovery. He has since grown this idea into a thriving business, Aqua Running.

The Aqua Running flotation suits allow wearers to maintain the correct biomechanical position in the water as they go through a series of specialised exercise routines. Working with military, football, athletics and rehabilitation training, Terry’s client list includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and the rest of the Real Madrid team all of whom have worn his suits. Terry also works with a dozen Premier league teams including Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC.

Last year, Terry decided to develop the suits even further, relocating his business to Sensor City, a global innovation hub in Liverpool.

The “Smart Suit” will now be integrated with a number of sensors which will, in real time, send accurate physiological data through water to the wearer’s coaches and medical rehabilitation staff.

Muscular imbalances, oxygen saturation, heart rate, muscle activation and acceleration are amongst a number of parameters that will benefit not only sports performance at the highest level, but also adults and children recovering from serious injury or illnesses. This is World Leading Technology.

The Top 100 entrepreneurs were announced in the Sunday Times on Sunday 29th April and Terry will also take part in a special event held in London next month to celebrate.
