The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) comes into force on 25th May 2018. This is new EU legislation that will change how personal data is used.

This Privacy Statement is a summary our Privacy and Data Protection Policy which sets out how we collect, manage and process personal data.  The full policy document can be viewed via the link on our website or by emailing info@sensorcity.co.uk.   All data collected, managed and processed by Sensor City is done so under the requirements of our Data Management Protocol.

Sensor City is a data controller.  Any personal data held by Sensor City is done so on the basis of: Consent; Contract; Legal Obligation; and/or Legitimate Interest.

If you have requested to receive emails, events notifications and newsletters from us, or sign up to our guest Wi-Fi, we hold basic contact details that you have supplied to us in a central database.

If you request information, services or advice from Sensor City, whether by telephone, through our website or by e-mail, we collect the data you have given to us in order to reply with the information you need (i.e. name, address, email, Company name, and summary of your interest in Sensor City). We record your request and our reply in order to increase the efficiency of our organisation, and keep personally identifiable information associated with your message, such as your name and email address to enable us to track our communications with you to provide a high-quality service.

We will only use your data for marketing purposes (newsletters, event notifications etc.) if you have opted in to receive such information.

As a general principle, we do not share, or sell, or disclose to a third party, any information collected about you. However, if you have given us explicit permission to do so, we may occasionally pass your name and contact information to selected associates whom we consider may provide advice, services or products you would find useful (for example, professional services and business advice provided by Sensor City associates or members).

  • No longer want your data to be held by Sensor City;
  • Need your data to be updated or corrected;
  • Wish to make a complaint;
  • Want to request copies of any personal data or information held by Sensor City.
